Where to Play Shuffleboard: Nashville

One of our favorite parts of the job is getting to get out into the world and research cool places to play shuffleboard and recently we went out to the Music City capital to research some rad places to get your shuffle on. Needless to say after a night (or twothree) walking up and down Lower Broadway we were able to narrow it down to our favorite 5 venues to play shuffleboard.

Located in East Hill near Nashville College at the intersection of Gallatin Avenue and Chester Avenue, we found fooBar (actually pretty difficult to find.) Labeled as a dive bar, however, there is a separate room for musical performances. They serve food, unfortunately we didn’t eat here, but according to the crowd they have some pretty amazing burritos. More importantly they have shuffleboard and billiards. The crowd was more bikers, metal heads, and tattooed individuals, which only appealed to one of our staff, but he fit in well. Catch this place on a Friday for a solid DJ and good vibes!

A short walk from Lower Broadway we found ourselves on 2nd Avenue andstumbled intowalked in to Buffalo’s Billiards. We found this venue to be a little more our speed with a sports bar and pool hall atmosphere. Not only do they have billiards and shuffleboard, but they even have a foosball table. No live music, but you can’t beat a good ole fashion juke box to find all your favorite tunes while playing some table games; the full bar doesn’t hurt either. Oh and definitely try the Pizza Pretzel, it could change your life!

If you know us (and I hope you do) then you know we love our BBQ. So when we found out this BBQ joint had shuffleboard…..done! We’re there! And this place did not disappoint. Found ourselves here for lunch, but word on the street (Woodland Street to be exact) the night scene is where’s at as well. With live music, full bar, patio dining, and free WiFi; we could’ve been here ALL night. Alas we had to leave before the sun set, on to our next adventure. For food, try the hushpuppies with Alabama sauce and the BBQ brisket nachos…duh! In addition to the shuffleboard table, these guys are also doing some corn toss on the patio as well as table tennis.

Near Music Row, off Division Street you’ll find Rebar (or at least we did.) Overall, a great place to hang out and meet great locals. Billiards, Shuffleboard, and Darts! Oh My! Very much the epitome of a dive bar, no juke box, but there’s music playing; you just can’t get your total request live on. They have televisions, usually broadcasting sports, but not a sport’s bar “feel”. And they have Happy Hour….perfect!

Okay okay, so it’s another dive bar, we get it; we have a problem. But don’t judge a book by it’s cover, right? Because from the outside this place may seem doomed from the get-go, but on the inside, it’s filled with great people and even better food, especially the burgers (and let’s be honest, this is why we really came, the shuffleboard table was a bonus.) On top of being able to play shuffleboard here, there’s even a chance you can see some pretty hilarious renditions of your favorite songs on their karaoke stage. Or if you’re as brave as us, you’ll join in on the fun with some tunes yourself in between shuffle games.
